Workshop 1: Introduction - Sunday, March 22nd // 12pm-3pm
In the first session we will explore and reacquaint ourselves with the fundamental skills needed for acting for camera. This will include an exploration of some of the common methods of screen acting including Meisner & Stanislavski, as well as an introduction to improvisation as a method of creating ultimate authenticity.
Workshop 2: Honing Your Skills - Sunday, March 29th // 12pm-3pm
In the second session we will focus on character development and script analysis. Attendees will run a classic scene cinema history, and explore the various ways each actor interacts with and builds their character. The fundamental idea in this session will not be about ensuring each actor sticks to a prescribed technique, but inside finds their own method that works best for them. At the end of this session, actors will form groups with whom they will perform their final scene with.
Workshop 3: Rehearsing the scene - Sunday, April 5th // 12pm-3pm
In this final session our groups will be directed and rehearse their chosen final scene in front of the class, as well as critiquing each other, and exploring various ways each scene can be looked at or approached.
The Shoot: Sunday, April 5th (times/final date variable based on group availability)
For the final session, each group will have a 1 hour shoot (at least - more if the group is large), shot in 4K by a professional cinematographer. The scene will be shot in a naturalistic style, akin to that of Lee's Angelfish, so that the actors may have the ultimate freedom to explore the scene and create the most natural and compelling performance possible.
The Fine Print: A 1/3 deposit is required to secure your place, and full payment is required before the start of the first workshop. Final completed and edited scenes will be delivered within 2 weeks of the final performance.
