Set in the Bronx in 1993, Angelfish follows the unexpected relationship between self-sufficient high-school dropout Brendan (Jimi Stanton) and Eva (Princess Nokia), a family-oriented, college-bound girl from Puerto Rico who dreams of becoming an actor and also creating a stable life for her loved ones. Despite their very different backgrounds, the two connect organically and work together to make a life for each other. Director Peter Lee captures all the moments — big and small — that make Eva and Brendan’s relationship so special. Princess Nokia’s presence on screen is magnetic and the chemistry between the two actors truly transports you.
